Primary School Teacher
Afternoon Study Program 
Purpose of Role
The afternoon study class, dedicated to preparing the lessons for the following day, is an important part of the learning process. It aims for pupils to complete their homework at school and return home well prepared and ready for the next day. An equally important objective is for pupils to develop study habits and autonomy, as well as the ability to organise their time effectively. After the basic school timetable, pupils join small groups according to their grade level and work on their assignments under the guidance of teachers.
Within this framework, Ellinogermaniki Agogi Primary School invites expressions of interest for the filling of two (2) teaching positions in the Afternoon Study Class, with responsibilities including:
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting students in completing their daily homework and preparing for the next school day
  • Helping students develop effective study strategies, autonomy, and time-management skills
  • Supporting pupils ensuring a calm, focused and positive learning environment
  • Communicating with the Head of Primary and class teachers, where necessary, regarding pupils’ progress and any emerging needs
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Degree in Primary Education that allows for teaching in a Greek Primary school
  • Mandatory knowledge of Greek both written and oral 
  • Current enrolment in a Primary Education University degree program
  • Teaching experience with primary school pupils
  • Excellent command of English, with professional written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in summer courses and/or afternoon/evening study programs
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues
  • A kind and positive personality, with genuine care and concern for children’s wellbeing
 
Working arrangements & professional development
The positions offer flexible working hours, with the possibility of part-time or full-time employment, depending on the needs of the school and the availability of candidates. Appointed teachers will also act as supplementary teachers in classrooms, support the class teacher in the daily teaching and learning process, as well as undertake autonomous teaching, thereby acquiring valuable teaching experience in a dynamic primary school environment. This role may also open the prospect of a permanent teaching position in the Primary School of Ellinogermaniki Agogi.
